Kieran Mccabe

Kieran is a Philly born actor, musician, and writer, who has primarily worked in the Chicago region since 2015. Kieran's been a part of award winning productions such as Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story at American Blues Theatre in 2018 (winner of five Jeff Awards including Best Ensemble) and has been nominated for his performance as “Buddy” in Buddy at the Marriott Theatre in 2023 (nom. Jeff Award for best individual performer in a principal role). Kieran has starred in productions of Rock of Ages at the Paramount Theater in 2022, a world premiere punk-rock musical entitled Verböten at the House Theatre in 2019, and has also worked as a proud member of the Actor's Equity at the Ogunquit Playhouse in Maine, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Writer's Theatre and more.
In 2016 and 2017, Kieran was a resident company member at Timber Lake Playhouse, working on 4 shows in one summer (Rock of Ages, a Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Titanic, and Gaslight) and 7 shows the next (Mary Poppins, Ah! Wilderness, Evita, Scapino, Carousel, Little Shop of Horrors, and Million Dollar Quartet). Kieran has also performed internationally on Holland America Line cruises as a Piano Bar entertainer from Naples, Italy to Ushuaia, Argentina and the entire ocean in between. Multi-disciplinary in his crafts, Kieran has worked as a pit musician, a stage actor, commercial/film actor, improviser, staff writer, roadie, stage-hand, assistant stage manager, composer, director, carpenter, electrician, stitcher and more, giving him a well rounded approach and understanding of all of the various facets of performance and live entertainment.
Kieran is doubly Jesuit educated, having attended St. Joseph's Preparatory School in Philadelphia and Loyola University of Chicago (B.A. English Creative Writing). In his undergraduate studies at Loyola, Kieran was a founding member, writer, actor, and interim President of Kettle Camp Studios, Loyola's only student run production company. Kieran starred in and wrote for the webseries KPU and served as head-writer for another webseries, University Treasure.
Kieran lives in Chicago where he works as an actor and musician. He produces his own music as Pinnings, a lo-fi freak folk musical project and he creates and performs with The Oh Boys, an indie rock trio writing modern music for vinyl hearts. Kieran's past musical projects include Day Off (2017-2018), Minor Setbacks (2012-2015), and the St. Rose of Lima School Choir. AMDG.
